In response to the shooting in Alexandria that left several GOP members injured, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) responded by claiming we have “too many guns on the street.”
According to source site Breitbart News, at least four people were hurt when a lone gunman began shooting at House and Senate members while they practiced for a baseball game in Alexandria, Virginiam Wednesday morning.
In response to this horrible incident, former New York Times assistant managing editor Jim Roberts quoted McAuliffe as saying: “There are too many guns on the street…we worry about this every day for all of our citizens.”
McAuliffe also said “93 million people are killed per day,” due to gun violence. He later corrected his statement with “93 people”.
The fact that over 90 people die every day due to gun violence is a number that many gun control proponents in America use every day. Groups like Everytown for GunSafety, Moms Demand Action and individuals like Hillary Clinton and McAuliffe swell the actual number people killed by “gun violence” by combining suicides by firearms to homicides, which more than doubles the number who are actually murdered by gun.
