Huma Abedin: “The First Thing In Common Between Hillary Clinton And Me Is We Both Have Idiots For Husbands”

Anyone who has seen the horribly fascinating documentary Weiner, about the disgraced New York mayoral candidate and sexting addict Anthony Weiner, will have had an up-close-and-personal look at the real political face of 2017, and maybe even the Democratic presidential candidate of 2024. Weiner’s wife is the elegant and cerebral Huma Abedin, who also happens to be the most trusted aide of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Abedin’s face in that movie is a picture of suppressed dismay. And many are asking how on earth does such a classy, contained person handle the kind of rackety farce she’s found herself in the middle of.

Recently, Abedin was interviewed by The New York Times for its “Warrior Women Of The Left Wing” weekend column. Among other things, Clinton’s aide was asked to comment on everything that has been going on with her life since the controversial movie premiered, most notably, the state of her marriage. She replied by making a parallel between herself and her boss, the Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton. “I can tell you that my relationship with Hillary Clinton is comprised of understanding, support, and mutual learning. But, despite being lucky enough to have such an employer, I have to point out that my single greatest similarity with her is the fact that both she and I have idiots for husbands,” Abedin spared no ammo.

“At the risk of sounding like someone who is complaining, even though I’m not, I don’t think I could have married a more vile, cunning and dishonorable man even if I wanted to,” she argued. “Coincidentally, I think that’s one of the reasons why I seem to work so well with my boss; Allah knows she’s had more than her fair share of disappointments when it comes to men. But, Islam teaches us to always focus on the positive and search for it, especially in the tragedies and bad things that happen to us sometimes way too often. That’s the advice I gave her on more than one occasion and I think it helped. I think her struggles and hardships served to make her the woman she is today.”

Abedin added, “After all, she is the Democratic presidential candidate and could very well make history by becoming the first female ever to become the President of the United States. And I think part of the strength she has today, part of the persistence that adorns her comes from what she’s been through. So, in a sense, the fact that she’s married to an idiot was presented to her by life as something bad. But, she found a way to turn it around and make the most of it and use it to her advantage. I can only hope that my idiotic marriage will offer me the same opportunities to learn and grow as hers.”

“In the meantime, I will attempt to follow my own advice and learn as much as I can from the trials my marriage has been and is putting me through,” she said. “I can only imagine how many women throughout America and the world are faced with a similar situation. I would like to send them a message not to bow down in the face of life’s tests. They are women and they are strong and they have the strength to prevail. And all they have to do to succeed is put up with an entire pig when all they really need is the sausage. Take my word for it – it will be worth it. Just take a look at Hillary,” Abedin concluded.
