Jorge Ramos, the nation’s leading Latino journalist-turned-activist, has been using his weekly Al Punto program on Univision as a platform for turning practically every topic to Trump.
Now that Donald Trump has all but secured the required amount of delegates for the Republican nomination, it was only a matter of time before Ramos would turn all his attention toward the candidate.
In four out of the five segments in the latest edition of the hour-long Sunday public affairs show, Ramos constantly goaded his quests into anti-Trump tirades. At the same time, he avoided spending even a single second on Hillary Clinton’s own set of problems and scandals.
His top boss at Univision has supported the Clintons since 1992 and his daughter works for Hillary Clinton, so it’s not a surprise that he has yet to dedicate anywhere the same amount of time and attention scrutinizing Trump’s scandal-ridden Democratic counterpart.
Ramos continues to stick to his distorted views that whoever thinks the laws of the land should be respected and enforced, and our borders protected, is “anti-immigrant”.
“I have been in this country for 33 years and I’ve never seen a campaign, an environment, so anti-immigrant like the one we’re seeing now. I thought that in this moment you and I would be talking about, for example, comprehensive immigration reform – but no, we have to talk about someone who wants to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants. What failed or is failing in this country?”
But Ramos’ attitude is actually helping the very person he has rallied against. Maybe he’s just doing it for the ratings.
