Avengers director Joss Whedon has been facing quite a backlash on social media after he insulted President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and described his wife, Ivanka Trump, as a dog.
“Hey, keep your eyes on this fu*king prize too. He’s a Voldemort in training,” Whedon posted on Twitter Tuesday.
“Unlike the Pekingese he married under, can play the long game,” Whedon wrote, comparing Ivanka to the small yapping dog breed.
Whedon was quickly criticized by social media users for attacking the president’s children.
@joss Just so we’re on the same page here. You just called Ivanka a dog because you don’t agree with Trump. Classy.
The director, who describes himself as a feminist, was called out for the way he described Ivanka Trump.
@joss Maybe next time just come out and say “bitch”. You ain’t fooling anyone with “Pekingese”. Is this how you fight for women’s rights?
After Donald Trump won the election in November, Whedon tweeted that Trump “cannot be allowed a term in office.”
“It’s not about 2018. It’s about RIGHT NOW,” he wrote.
Attacking Republicans on social media is not anything new for Whedon. He recently wrote on his Twitter account that he wished for House Speaker Paul Ryan to be killed in a grueling way.
“Violence solves nothing. I want a rhino to fuck @SpeakerRyan to death with its horn because it’s FUNNY, not because he’s a #GOPmurderbro,” he wrote.
