Newly unearthed photos of President Obama in Muslim garb underscore his deep ties to the faith – and possibly help explain his reluctance to call out radical Islam, Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly said Wednesday. The photos, aired on “The O’Reilly Factor,” were not offered as evidence that Obama is Muslim, as some of his critics insist, but to show his “deep emotional ties” to the religion of his father and stepfather, O’Reilly said.
Shortly after The O’Reilly Factor, President Obama convened a press conference regarding the photos. Asked to comment on them, he stated that they were true and that the photos do show him wearing a Muslim garb, but that “it was nothing more than a rehearsal of a Halloween costume that has now come back to bite me.” “I guess we should have left the camera out of the room that day, huh?” the President asked jokingly, causing the members of the press to laugh.
“Seriously though, everybody loves to dress up and go party and trick-or-treating on Halloween, right? Well, contrary to popular belief, I used to be a person just like everybody else before I became the President of the United States,” he added. “Back in the day, we were short on cash and everybody had their family’s help with their costumes. I had no money and nobody to help, so I figured the garb would be perfect. And when people would ask me who I was supposed to be, I’d just make them guess and agree with whatever they’d initially say. It was the perfect setup, actually.”
“The Christian holiday of Halloween is one of those days of the year that you know is supposed to be scary and eerie and all that, but at the end of the day, when you’ve got friends who are up to no good, it turns out to be pretty much the best day of the year, except for maybe your birthday,” he said. “But let me tell you, that thing is a b*tch to put on when you’ve got nobody to help you. A couple of years later I busted it out of the closet again but this time I had help from several girls, if you know what I mean. Michelle was actually among them.”
“And if you really want to know, that’s sort of become our little tradition in the meantime. Because when I first saw how good she was with her hands, I knew I’d marry her some day. The way she dressed me up in that thing, and mind you, that’s not an easy task. You’ve got a ton of overlaps and knots and you have to get the tension right, it’s tricky. But she was a natural. Every now and then, I bring it out during Christian Halloween just to see if she’s lost her touch. And she’s still as fast as day one,” the President revealed.
