Before presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took the stage at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin spoke to the large crowd to illustrate why the New York billionaire is the best choice for president of the United States.
“Trump is winning because he will put you first,” Palin said.
She exalted Trump’s supporters, saying, “They’re rowdy and they’re fun and they’re energizing.”
She went on to characterize the Democratic Party as “cranky, demanding, and shrill.”
After Trump took the stage, he immediately chastised the recent meeting between former President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch and cast serious doubt that they spent the 30 minutes they had together taking about his grandchildren and golf.
“When I first heard this story, I said, ‘Oh, no, you’re kidding,'” Trump said.
Earlier this week, Bill Clinton met with Lynch at an airport in Phoenix. Although Lynch refutes rumors that the two spoke about the ongoing investigation the Justice Department is leading into Hillary Clinton’s misuse of a private email server, the encounter has many examining her impartiality.
“I love my grandchildren, but if I talk about them for more than nine or 10 seconds, after that, what are you going to say?” Trump said of his eight grandkids.
“I love golf but after speaking about golf for a couple minutes, it’s tough,” Trump added.
Trump continued to talk about a number of issues, from foreign policy and trade deals to the Supreme Court.
“You could even have three, you could even have four more [seats]. … Including Justice Scalia, you could have as many as five,” he said.
