Sean Spicer: “Clinton Is Somebody Who Doesn’t Understand The Importance Of Our National Security”

Earlier today, FBI Director James Comey released a statement saying Clinton was “extremely careless” about handling classified emails, but will not advise the Department of Justice to bring up criminal charges against Hillary Clinton.

“Our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case,” Comey said.

“We are pleased that the career officials handling this case have determined that no further action by the Department is appropriate,” he said. “As the Secretary has long said, it was a mistake to use her personal email and she would not do it again. We are glad that this matter is now resolved.”

The GOP was quick to react to the news with many tweeting their displeasure with the FBI’s decision.

Donald Trump tweeted: “FBI director said Crooked Hillary compromised our national security. No charges. Wow!” and “The system is rigged. General Petraeus got in trouble for far less. Very very unfair! As usual, bad judgment.”

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee tweeted: “Hillary may not be POTUS, but she’ll be on the Winter Olympic team for ice skating, no one has successfully skated on more thin ice than her.”

Republican National Committee spokesperson Sean Spencer communicated to CNN that the FBI’s investigation clearly shows Clinton’s competence for the White House was a “major, major problem.”

[Clinton is] somebody who doesn’t understand the importance of our national security,” Spicer said, according to USA Today.

“Declining to prosecute Secretary Clinton for recklessly mishandling and transmitting national security information will set a terrible precedent,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a statement. “The findings of this investigation also make clear that Secretary Clinton misled the American people when she was confronted with her criminal actions.”
